Pretty 2 bedroom villa in Cavtat near Dubrovnik
This delightful villa is located in the heart of Cavtat old town. Originally forming part of a Renaissance palace built in 1704, the accommodation is now offered as a very picturesque 2/3 bedroom villa set within a lovely private courtyard and offering wonderful views of Cavtat and the sea from its first floor balcony. Situated in a quiet part of town and within easy walking distance of Cavtat’s cafes, restaurants and beaches, the accommodation would suit a family or group of adults.
The villa is accessed from a picturesque pedestrian street onto a raised ground level courtyard garden with outdoor eating facilities. Patio doors lead into a modern lounge with a kitchen/diner and separate shower room. To the rear of the lounge a door leads into a secondary lounge which contains an en-suite shower room and a sofa bed which can be used as an additional sleeping area for two persons. Doors from the secondary lounge lead out into the entrance hall/corridor where there is a spiral staircase and a front door leading out onto the street. The first floor contains one double bedroom with en-suite shower room and a good sized balcony offering views of part of the old town and the sea. The second floor also features a double bedroom with vaulted ceiling and an en-suite shower room which also offers a view of the sea.
An hourly boat service operates to Dubrovnik from Cavtat from April till October. The boat arrives directly into Dubrovnik old town and the journey time is approx. 30-40 minutes. Last boat back is around midnight.

Some extra kitchen utensils would have been good 1. Bread knife 2. Colander 3. Dinner trays otherwise excellent accommodation and hope to return.
Very high standard, probably best place we have ever stayed!
Impressed with: Multi-cultural (not just Brits!) Clean streets and beaches.
Recommend: Trip to Lokrum island
Favourite villa moment: Breakfasts on the balcony/sun terrace.Villa Comments: Kitchen Utensil situation has been attended to, see previous guest comments.

We could have done with more information - we struggled to make the TV work initially. Leaflets about buses and boats, as well as other destinations would have been helpful as well as info about other places to eat .
The kitchen lacked a sharp knives , we struggled to cut a loaf of bread with the one knife provided . A welcome pack including tea , coffee , dishwasher tabs , etc would have been helpful . A tray to help carry things up to the sun terrace . The sun umbrella on the upper terrace didn't stand up so we were unable to use the terrace after mid- morning . The ground floor bedroom didn't have a set of drawers or wardrobe to store clothes etc . As we didn't use it it wasn't a problem but it would have been if the third member of our party had been able to come . Despite the above we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return if there were only 2 of us in the party . The air con was a real blessing.
Property manager was very pleasant and helpful, she replied to out texts about the TV promptly and in English . She collected us from the car park fairly promptly.
A welcome pack should be provided in each property.
Impressed with: The beautiful coastal scenery, Cavtat as a pretty place. Dubrovnik as a beautiful city
Not impressed with: The food was expensive and quite boring, a lot of the restaurants didn’t use seasoning so the food was bland.
Recommend: Poseidon was excellent, lovely position on the harbour and tasty food at reasonable prices. Quite a few of the other restaurants offered average food at quite high prices. We enjoyed the carnival on the first weekend we were there , Sunday 28th July .
Favourite villa moment: We enjoyed sitting in the courtyard in the afternoons reading a book.Villa Comments: There is a booklet in the villa under the TV set explaining how to use appliances including the TV, dishwasher, washing machine. For recommendations we are always on hand to advise guests. We have now added extra sharp knives although we thought the ones that were there were sharp enough. We are sorry the guests struggled. There is a tray located near the dishes section. We took down the sun umbrellas before the guests arrived because of the wind as they may have been blown down. They were there and customers just needed to erect them again, if guests were having a problem they could always contact us, we are happy to help.
As per our 3 star classification, the ground floor room as a hanger stand and a stand for the luggage and we do not need to provide a wardrobe if we provide this in a room.
Welcome packs can be arranged on request in advance for additional fee.

With regard to furniture, a small table on the upper balcony would be useful. With regard to kitchen equipment a tray to carry food and drink up to upper balcony would be helpful.
Recommend: Mali Ston for fish restaurant Mostar for day trip
Favourite villa moment: Sitting on the upper balcony at night, watching the sun go downStayed June 2013
Very nice and helpfull houseowner.
Impressed with: The sea, very clean people are very kind and helpfull
Recommend: Poseiden, very nice lunch restaurant, Dalmatino, the best restaurant, the best beef and the staff vas very nice.
Favourite villa moment: Morning cofee outsideStayed July 2012
While we coped anybody who wasn't fully fit would not have been able to reach the property carrying suitcases. A warning that the property can only be reached on foot and up stone stairs would be prudent. Spare toilet rolls would be helpful. We needed to buy a multipack since they were only sold in multipacks! It didn't break the bank, but it wouldn't have broken their bank to have replacements available.
We had an early arrival but were met and given full access to the property 4 hours before check in time, which was appreciated. We had no contact from the owners to check whether all was well following that, and a check would have been appreciated. We needed to make contact with them to sort how to return keys at the end of our stay and in the event those arrangements failed and we needed another call to sort out. It worked out, but thanks to us rather than them!
You served us well. Thank you.
Impressed with: Cleanliness. Friendly locals. Well preserved walled towns. Good weather.
Not impressed with: A lot of stairs!!!
Recommend: All (activities) were good. Three Islands boat trip was perhaps best Value for Money.
Favourite villa moment: Restaurant Cavtat's live music evening with a group of very lively French who insisted we all join in on the dance floor. Staff and food at restaurant Cavtat were excellent too.Stayed June 2012
We had a simply perfect holiday - the house is delightful. Only 1 comment - wish the Croatians would offer bigger bath towels!!! Overall impression: The fact that we have been to Croatia once or twice each year since 2006 says it all!
Stayed September 2011
As with all properties location is so important - this was perfect for us. Apart from the great geography a vast majority of the locals were very helpful and hospitable, and all spoke English with varying degrees of proficiency. Magic country, highly recommended and well worth a return visit.

Property was excellent and meet all our requirements perfectly. We were very very happy with the accommodation. The contact was very pleasant and met us exactly as promised - it couldn’t have been easier! The friendliness of the people, the lifestyle and prettiness of Cavtat, the beauty of the area and the ease of communicating - the Croatians spoke so many languages and offered excellent service. Everyone we met was very kind & helpful.
