Hertz rent a car Insurance Details
All rates include third party liability insurance. Our car hire prices include Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection (TP) which covers you in case of damage / loss of a rented vehicle or its parts or accessories, fire, breakage of glass or theft for damage/repair to the vehicle. However, in all cases a non – waiverable excess (NWE) does apply where you will remain liable for an excess amount up to a maximum of Euros 600 on car groups A, B, C and O; Euros 800 on car groups D,E; Euros 1200 on all other car groups.
Additional Drivers:
Charged at Euros 10 per driver per day up to a maximum of 3 days charge (Euros 30) per driver payable locally.
Driver’s licence and minimum age:
A valid national driving licence held for at least one year must be produced together with a passport or an acceptable national ID card. Minimum age requirements for drivers – 21 years of age or 25 years of age for car groups I,J,K and X. Drivers age 21 – 24 years of age are subject to an under age driver fee of Euros 10 per day up to a maximum of 3 days charge.
Child seats and other items:
Child seats are charged at Euros 15 per day up to a maximum of 3 days charge per rental (Euros 45) paid locally.
Deposit:
A credit card imprint (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club) required and pre-authorisation taken up to the value of estimated charges. No cash deposits accepted.
Out of hours Collection:
Office hours vary according to season and location. Clients collecting a car/having a car delivered outside office hours will be charged the following out of hours charges
Euros 12 if collecting a car 2 hours before or after office hours
Euros 24 if collecting a car more than 2 hours before of after office hours
Delivery / Collection:
On request and usually free of charge if delivery is within cit limits of a Hertz office.
Hertz Croatia Car hire office locations:
Zagreb (city and airport), Pula (city and airport), Zadar (airport), Split (city and airport), Dubrovnik (city and airport), Osijek.
Free of charge between car rental offices on mainland Croatia and Krk island (Rijeka airport) office. One ways to/from islands possible only on request and subject to an additional charge. Returning the rented vehicle abroad is on request and subject to a fee.
Driving into neighbouring countries:
Vehicles may not be driven across any of the Croatian borders without prior approval from the car rental company. The only exception to this is when crossing the Croatia-Bosnia and Herzegovina borders on the A8 main road (route E65) between Split and Dubrovnik. In general there is no additional charge to drive into Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina. There is an additional charge of Euros 7 per day up to a maximum charge of 3 days rental if you wish to take the car into Serbia or Montenegro. Please advise at time of booking if you wish to travel into a neighbouring country. Failure to advise about taking the car across borders will render all insurances void and make customers fully liable for theft, accidents, damage to the vehicle and other consequences.
GPS-Satellite Navigation:
Offered in a choice of more than 40 languages, GPS is currently available from Zagreb, Pula, Split and Dubrovnik office locations (not available for one way rentals). Charged at Euros 10 per day up to a maximum of 10 days rental.
