Stunning 4 bedroom stone townhouse on Vis Island
The island of Vis is fast becoming one of the most exclusive islands on the Dalmatian coast and for good reason. Under Yugoslavia, no foreigners were allowed on the island (as it was a military zone) and as a result the island escaped the building of tourist resorts and hotels on its shoreline. Vis can truly lay claim to the term “unspoilt”. This immaculately-restored stone house in Vis town offers the perfect base for appreciating the attractions in the town and the surrounding beauty of the island.
The house is tastefully decorated and arranged on four floors. Double doors lead into the ground floor which contains a stunning open-plan kitchen/diner/lounge with adjoining utility room and a separate cloakroom with toilet and sink. From the kitchen guests can directly access the courtyard and shaded eating area with table and seating made from fine Brac Stone. The first floor is accessed in two ways, internally from the kitchen diner and externally from street level via a stone staircase both of which lead directly into a second reception area. A double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a shower room (with toilet) are also located on this level. Internal stairs then take you onto the second floor which consists of another double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a bathroom with bathtub (and toilet). The top, third floor (roof level) consists of a loft-lounge (with sofa-bed for 1 person) with TV and sitting area. French doors open out from this lounge area onto the roof-top terrace which features a BBQ and a large octagonal table that can seat up to 8 persons. Excellent views across Vis Town and its bay can be enjoyed from the terrace. Directly in front of the house is a walkway that allows you access straight to the sea 5 metres away for that essential morning swim!
It is possible to take a car onto Vis to explore the island although it must be noted that the centre of Vis Town is entirely pedestrianised during the summer. Therefore it may be preferable to take the high-speed catamarans that run regularly from Split to Vis – the house is a short walk from the harbour. There are several sandy beaches on Vis island and other attractions include a day-trip to the famous “blue cave” on the nearby island of Bisevo and an evening at the town’s open-air cinema. Other destinations on Vis island can be reached by taxi or bus. This villa would suit a family or a group of friends wishing to have an unforgettable holiday on one of the most relaxing and stunningly beautiful islands in Dalmatia. For more information about Vis Island watchvideo.

It was an absolute delight to stay there. It is a spacious and comfortable property. There is little outside space although the roof terrace is fine. And it is literally just across the road from the nearest beach. The only problem we had was with ants in the kitchen, so food needs to be sealed away.
Caretaker was - very friendly. She met us from the ferry and showed us the way to the villa.
Reason we booked: The villa itself and the comprehensive information about it on the website
I had assumed we would be able to get hold of the necessary Euros for the deposit with ease but that wasn't the case, so I think you should either make it clear we need to take Euros with us or accept the local currency.
Impressed with: The sea is the clearest I have ever seen.
Not impressed with: Everyone smokes and all the taxi drivers text constantly as they drive even round the hairpins!
Recommend: All the recommendations in the owner's guide were excellent. We particularly enjoyed the Military Tour which gave us such a good history of the island as well. If you pick the latest tour, you also get to sea the sunset from the highest point of the island.
Favourite villa moment: Swimming in the cool silver early morning before the short walk to buy breakfast bread and pastries at the bakery.
Stayed July 2017
Information about the hot water tanks would have been useful to us. We don't have that system in Sweden. Would have been nice to have seatings for all eight persons by the TV.
Impressed with: Helpful people and wonderful water to swim in.
Not impressed with: Mosquitos
Recommend: Visit Komiza town too, very nice. We went to a very good pizza restaurant in Vis town, don't remember the name, but it started with a K :)
Favourite villa moment: Grilled fish on the roof one evening.

Read more reviewsWe were very happy with both Villas VS001 and VS008 18-24 Sept 2012. Hosts were excellent, no complaints at all. Should we do another cricket tour to Vis, I will come back to your site, and would recommend the company.
Croatian Villa staff were very helpful at all times. There was one issue where a PDf was sent for one villa and not for the other. It turned out that you don't use the PDf anymore. But it did provide a bit of confusion. Nevertheless, your staff were very helpful and sorted it all out.
Thanks for everything, we had a great time.

Caretaker was very welcoming and helpful- met us at Port and took us to House. She gave us a tour of House, explained all we needed to know- showed us the local information booklets and told us to phone her if we needed anything.
Brilliant location between Luka and Kut- 10m from sea had morning swim every morning before breakfast. Excellent facilities in kitchen- we dined in 3 nights out of 7. Great information left for us by owners.
Impressed with: Friendliness of people, cleanliness of beaches, and the beautiful countryside.
Not impressed with: Nothing.
Recommend: Very laid back Town which was fantastic for just chilling out. Plenty of great restaurants- we had a superb meal every evening and the occasional lunch-you have to go to Pol Murvu- we had lunch there and wished we had booked an evening meal and arranged a taxi- we will next time we visit the Island ! Hire a car for a day and you can easily travel around the Island to see the various sights. A boat trip to Blue Cave was a lovely day - you can also do it as a half day from Kommitza. Some lovely beaches around Vis Town as well especially towards the Submarine Cave.
Favourite villa moment: Watching the Fireworks display on our first night from the rooftop terrace- awesome.Stayed September 2012
Great villa in a beautiful location. Caretaker was great. Villa was lacking in cool box for picnics and ice packs, anti-mosquito plug ins.
All very positiveImpressed with: Beautiful sea, calm and peaceful and unspoilt, friendly.
Not impressed with: Smoking
Recommend: The owners book of recommendations was spot on!
Favourite villa moment: Drinks on the top terrace at sundownStayed August 2012
There were no condiments (e.g. salt, pepper, cooking oil) etc. on arrival - a few of these would have been useful! All else was excellent.
Impressed with: Beautiful coastline, excellent swimming.
Recommend: Plenty of nice restaurants around Kut, the Boccadero restaurant was excellent.
Favourite villa moment: Going for our morning swim, in the harbour opposite the villa.Villa Comments: Fair comment about condiments – We always stock up at the beginning of the season along with all the washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets, etc, and we usually keep an eye on supplies. We must have missed the salt and pepper being used up. We will check more often.

A good all round experience. We booked a shuttle with the recommended company on your website. They were excellent. Met us straight off the plane outbound, and ferry on the return leg. Driver was friendly, polite and efficient. Car was new, clean and spacious. Would recommend to others.

A fabulous place - great for relaxing during a romantic honeymoon, but also very good for families and large groups holidaying together. We were impressed with the beautiful landscape and absolutely crystal clear water. Also, the friendliness of the local people, particularly in restaurants and at the tourist agencies. Massive thank you to the caretaker for meeting us at the ferry and making us feel so welcomed.

It is a beautiful villa very well placed in Vis Town and with loads of personal recommendations from the owners and former guests on where to visit. We felt very lucky to have stayed there. In Vis it was the beauty of the Island. We'd been told how lovely and unspoilt it was but you don't fully realise until you visit Vis. Also the weather was great, even travelling in mid-September. The buildings and landscape are also very beautiful and if you like sailing/swimming, eating and walking there's plenty to do. People, although initially reserved, were very friendly to us, especially when our friend's child got chicken pox on the holiday. The advice I received from the gentleman at Croatian Villas - about travelling to Vis - was really useful in helping me to make a decision about where to travel to. There's only so much you can learn from reviews on the internet. He spent time talking through the islands with me before I had made any definite plans to book a villa with the company.

I think the fact that we have now returned to a different part of Croatia now for 4 years says it all. The office staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the properties they are marketing. Vis is simply enchanting and the first place we have visited that we know we will return to. For our entire family aged 16-55, it ticked every box. But we are not recommending it to anyone we want to keep it as our own secret!.
Stayed August 2009
The property was beautiful and well maintained.

Lovely property, better than expected.
