Family Villas and Apartments in Croatia, Family Accommodations
Excellent. Suited us perfectly. We returned to the mainland on the Sumartin-Makarska ferry which was very convenient and might have suited the journey out too.
Loved the village and the house. The land line number for the caretaker wasn't helpful as she used her mobile, and the person who answered didn't speak English
Caretaker was brilliant, extremely helpful (especially helping with sorting out a broken down hire car) , couldn't have asked for more. Even got up to see us off at 05.30
Impressed with: Beauty of scenery, cleanliness. Clarity of the sea. Friendliness of people.
Not impressed with: Our car hire company who were very obstructive when our car broke down, until Angela laid into them!
Recommend:The Golden Horn in Bol is lovely but very busy and nicest visited later in day -when parking was free too.
Favourite villa moment: The boys loved having a pool - and if they were happy we could relax.Stayed August 2013
All was fine. Only annoyance was wasps. Too many of them to make eating on the terrace relaxing. Recommend to have some wasp nest treatment after the summer, possibly also to leave spray for guests.
Caretaker was very good
Impressed with: Welcoming and easy going people, fine weather.
Not impressed with: Busy roads and slightly chaotic ferry crossing arrangements.
Recommend: Local boat hire very convenient and reasonable price.
Favourite villa moment: Relaxing in pool.Stayed August 2013
The welcome from the 'owner' was extremely friendly and informative. (Impressed with) The beautiful scenery, the stunning architecture and the friendliness of many people we met.
Stayed August 2011
Excellent. The property was beautiful and in a fantastically located area in the town making it easy to go out to local shops and restaurants. The caretaker, was lovely. Very friendly, helpful and whilst she was available by mobile phone at any time, she left us to our own devices after her initial welcome. She also very kindly let us stay in the villa until 12pm and even then, let us leave our luggage in the locked garden as our flight wasn't until evening.
We were hugely impressed with the whole service we got from Croatian Villas. Both the property and the resort were superb.
Impressed with: The island of Brac was beautiful and much less touristy than other places we have visited like Majorca or the Greek islands. The people were friendly, the food good and the prices for eating and drinking out incredibly good value.
Not impressed with: Nothing!
Recommend: The two restaurants we liked best were Palma and the other was just on the left of the steps down into the town - I've forgotten it's name! For coffee or drinks, Fjaka was lovely and reasonably priced. Also would highly recommend a day out on the Olinta boat with the lovely Captain Toni, Excellent value for money as it was a full 9 hours with stops for coffee, lunch and 3 swimming stops. Our teenagers loved it!
Favourite villa moment: The best times were simply relaxing by the pool or in the shade in the beautiful terraced garden and the chilled out evenings, after our harbour-side meal, sitting outside the villa playing cards with the children or reading.Stayed August 2012
Amazing views from this property. Excellent cleaning staff.
Hotel staff didn't explain how to get hot water (or heating which we never succeeded in getting and certainly needed it last week) which would have been helpful at the outset. Lots of semi wild cats around - due to proximity of fish processing plant no doubt - and the upstairs of the apartment did smell of cats - one day we found a cat inside the apartments so I imagine they are getting in and weeing/spraying whilst people have their French doors open. Might be worth informing people of the need to be vigilant / keep doors closed as the smell wasn't pleasant and will only get worse.
Impressed with: Cleanliness Absence of tourist tat.
Not impressed with: Manner of staff in immigration.
Recommend:Walk round to Splitska for a meal in either restaurant
Favourite villa moment: When the sun eventually came out. Waking up with the view of the mainland from your bed is pretty impressiveStayed May/June 2013
Really nice, well equipped and excellently located. More guides in the house. We missed the fact that there were insect screens in the windows. The car hire worked well and was effective.
Impressed with: Everyone was extremely friendly and most have a good sense of humour. Sea.
Not impressed with: Driving.
Recommend: Bukovac House Restaurant Leut Restaurant CavtatStayed August 2012
The property was very well kept and in very good condition. The comments we would make is that the pictures did not fully give justice to how nice the property was.
The owner was very helpful when we arrived and during our stay. He provided us excellent travel tips, arranged boat rental with a local guide, and even provided us fresh fish which he prepared for us. He was in no way intruding, but available for us when we had questions.
Everything worked perfectly.
Impressed with: Friendliness of the people. Clear and fresh water. Low prices.
Not impressed with: Number of tourists and the heat in the larger cities.
Recommend: The next door coffee shop/bar is a natural choice with a great atmosphere. The local restaurants have good food and friendly service. To have something extra the best recommendation would be to rent a boat and go across to the isolated bay at Pakomina for some very good food and a a few hours on a perfect small beach there.
Favourite villa moment: The favorite with the kids is the pool area - a very nice pool and a beautiful area with very good sun beds. As for the adults the outdoor kitchen with a spacious dining area was the best - enjoying grilled fresh fish with some good wine was a perfect evening.Stayed July 2013
Everything was perfect. Best choice for what we looked for. It is a true gem! Located in a very cozy area with wonderful access to the beach.
Owner was a big help for us when arriving in Croatia, giving us directions on where to go and was a very friendly host.
Impressed with: The color of the sea
Recommend: Bol is a charming little city and you can enjoy a nice diner in Milna at the Marina
Favourite villa moment: Everything. Everything was perfect
Stayed September 2016
The villa's location was absolutely perfect and secluded. The villa was beautiful and equipped we everything we needed. However, the internet connection was almost non-existent which made it very difficult for even the simplest tasks, such as checking our email or browsing.
The owner was extremely helpful and pleasant.
Better driving instructions for the villa. For example the mileage from Milna to the house would have been helpful, as well as better explanation of how to find the property. In the end we managed, but it was not very easy.
Impressed with: The beauty.
Not impressed with: The lack of aesthetics and details when it comes to new buildings and houses. There were a lot of bees and flies which often made it hard to enjoy our outdoor meals.
Recommend: The nearest town Milna was charming. Bol was another nice town to visit. Konoba Kopacina in Donji Humac was the best restaurant we tried.
Favourite villa moment: There were a few: going for an early morning swim in front of the house. We liked having cocktails on the deck before sunset with a beautiful view of the bay.Villa Comments: The internet is good enough for e-mail and in general guests are satisfied with the internet connection. Up till now we have no problem whatsoever with receiving or sending e- mails. We are sorry guests experienced problems although we do recommend if guests are finding internet connection very slow they let us know and we can take a look and see what the problem is.

I recently stayed at this beautiful villa near Milna (on the island of Brac) with my family of 4 and another couple of friends with 2 young children. The villa met my expectations in every way: the main house is nicely designed and has 3 bedrooms (the master bedroom is huge!) and air conditioning throughout. There is an annexed cottage (very nicely and recently renovated) where my teenager children slept more than comfortably (it has a bathroom and air conditioning as well!). In the main house, there is a large kitchen with a big wood burning oven, so we enjoyed grilled meals every day.
During the day, we all had fun in the reasonably sized swimming pool which is surrounded by trees and flowers: overall, the grounds are lovely landscaped and nicely manicured. But if that is not enough, there is also a beautiful semi-private beach accessible directly from the property.
At night, we ate outdoor in the gorgeous patio overlooking the bay, but our favorite area was the additional elevated, covered terrace where we had drinks and appetizers while admiring the wonderful landscape of the island. The location is just perfect!
Finally, the property owner, is attentive and courteous: her charm is just the final cherry to the cake! I have already recommended this property to other friends and family.

Excellent. Very good.
Stayed August 2013
Our villa stay was outstanding and everything it was advertised to be.
Stayed June 2011
The yard was also nice, There surely were very many steps, but we managed and got good exercise. Caretaker was very friendly and helpful.
Impressed with: Clear waters in the sea, nature, mountains.
Not impressed with: Water in the tub didn't taste very good, although it was drinkable, which is of course good.
Recommend: Island Lokrum, Restaurant Buganvila in Cavtat.
Favourite villa moment: Our common meals, barbeques, eating around the big table out in the yard, swimming in the sea.
Stayed October 2015
Beach towels. On request, we did get additional towels but were told that these were not for the beach. For a 2 week stay, we did expect that the house would be cleaned rather than just having a change of linen.
Villa Comment: All towels, including beach towels, are in the first landing wardrobe. The villa is always cleaned after one week, subject to the customers' approval to do so.
I believe that the following comments in the description of the villa are misleading. "The villa is set on the edge of town and it is a short walk down a very pretty path through a pine forest to some wonderful swimming spots. It would not suit those with walking difficulties." In fact it's a walk down very steep steps which are unsuitable for either 70 year olds lugging suitcases or even 40 year olds with a toddler and pram, even if they don't have walking difficulties. The wonderful swimming spots are slippery and watch out for sea urchins. We are experienced international travellers and have expectations which were not met in some cases.
Villa Comment: To get to the villa from the parking, customers have to walk 50 meters along the seaside promenade, then climb 40 steps. There is a gentler (but slightly longer) way up from the Franciscan monastery, which involves only 10 steps.
Caretaker was Extremely helpful. Always quick to respond friendly.
Recommend: They were all much the same. All excellent food and service. We never had a bad experience.
Favourite villa moment: The outside patio. Pity about the mosquitosStayed June/July 2013
From the car park to the villa is via many steps and some help with the luggage at this point would be very nice. Caretaker was very nice and helpful.
Impressed with: Unspoilt and beautiful coast line and crystal blue sea .great for swimming.
Not impressed with: No help with luggage up steps
Recommend: Definetely Restaurant dalmacion (near spelling i think)in town centre in cavtat
Favourite villa moment: Seeing the sea and boats from the village.Stayed September 2012
Didn't advise whether beach towels were provided. The agent told us that plastic utensils must be used with the induction hob - but no plastic utensils were provided! Shower drained very slowly - drains need unblocking regularly The property is quite high up - steep walk to beach and restaurants
Impressed with: Scenery, friendliness
Not impressed with: Delays at Split airport
Recommend: Worth spending some time in Split and Dubrovnik Local restaurants provided good value meals
Favourite villa moment: Plunging into the pool on a very hot day!
Stayed August – September 2015

(Caretaker) Extremely helpful. Very satisfied overall however Wifi signal is pretty low which makes it challenging to use properly.
Impressed with: Hospitality from people, good food

Excellent location!!! The owner was wonderful. Very attentive and helpful. Full of information about local restaurants, attractions and excursions.
Better access to wifi - especially for people who may have a work emergency while on vacation
Impressed with: The people, the water and the mountains.
Villa Comments: Router is located on the ground floor of a 3-4 story building. Internet is not strong everywhere so maybe not so good in the bedroom with doors closed. On the terrace/balcony WiFi is usually very good.
Stayed August 2012
Excellent. The location was perfect and the town of Brela was adorable. Also, breakfast was included with our reservation which was a pleasant surprise. We will be back! The owners are fabulous! They had good recommendations of places to go visit and restaurants to try. Very warm and personable as well.
Impressed with: The diversity and the beauty.
Not impressed with: The wine.
Recommend: We frequented Obala restaurant, Gulliver's bar and had our final dinner at Konoba Panorama. All of these places were worth a visit or two.
Favourite villa moment: Soaking in the sunset on our private terrace with a drink in hand.Stayed July/August 2012
Suitable for our needs. Would return to the property if we required group travel accommodation Land line for telephone was not working. Beautiful country. Relax and enjoy
Impressed with: Beauty of the country and Adriatic coast.
Not impressed with: Bank services not readily available.
Recommend: Bar Nautica
Favourite villa moment: Enjoying breakfast and sunsets on the terrace. The entire first floor was enjoyed by all.
Stayed September 2015
Good selection of villas, in Telegraph travel article. The description of the location is rather misleading- it was much further uphill on a dirt track than expected. Villa offered great service.
Impressed with: People, service, great coastline
Stayed August 2016
Slightly confusing - although the apartment appeared to be managed by the Pastura hotel it was actually owned by Vrilo hotel - so any problems had to be reported to them and we couldn't charge anything at the Pastura.. Cleaning seemed slightly erratic - never sure when they were due so couldn't just leave towels on the floor as requested.
Impressed with: Still unspoilt, good food, cheap and friendly people.
Recommend: Rafting over at Omis. Bracera restaurant for squid chips and lovely salad.Villa Comments. The apartments are not offered the same service as in the hotel so for example they are not cleaned every day, this is not included with self-catering apartments.
Stayed August 2013
The property is very good and may have more confort simply adding dish washer and washing machine. More ovre the air coinditioning system located on the roof is a little bit noisy. People of the hotel are very nice and kind, always helpful.
Impressed with: The beauty of the beaches and the kindness of people.
Stayed July 2013
Excellent. Everything perfect.
Impressed with: Nature, architect, friendly people, food.
Stayed July 2012
This was an EXCELLENT villa and we had an extremely pleasant week.

Good-Excellent. Caretaker was great!
Impressed with: The people, food, weather and clear water.
Not impressed with: The wasps
Recommend:Recommended a restaurant called Ziza (in Donji Humac) which was a fantastic upmarket restaurant experience!Stayed August 2013
a wonderful house, with very well considered lay out, very cozy, in a quite and peaceful place, with the beautiful garden and olive oil tree))). Located close to two big supermarkets/grocery, and the city Supetar, but yet you need to have a car. Welcoming people on the Island. Perfect for family of 3 or 4. Many beaches spots, that you can always find the one good for you, including sand-beach, may be 30 min drive from villa.
The owner was very helpful and welcoming, so we could always call for advice. We are grateful to the owner, and appreciate all the assistance and efforts. Every day we had housemaid, making beds and changing towels, A LOT OF TOWELS in the house.
Recommend:The Island is not that big, so just to make the trip around the Island, you will enjoy the pictures view of beautiful nature and small stone villages. We would recommend visiting Tomi restaurant that is in Dol village, 40 min drive from villa, good food, and good service. You can also buy their home wine, black olives, olive oil, all home made. Kapachino restaurant, 20 min drive from villa, very good food, service and view. BOL famous beach, worse to see and of course Vidova Gora.
Favourite villa moment: We enjoyed all the time being there, and I think most memorable moments are outside breakfast in the morning, sundown on sundeck and BBQ in the evenings with the garden and swimming pool lightning. We would love to get back to villa one day again!Stayed June 2012
Excellent villa, beautifully designed, great location
Stayed July 2008
This is a fantastic villa for families. The location is ideal to see the whole of the island. We loved the fact that we could pick fresh figs from the garden for breakfast. The option to have dinner served in the villa should not be missed -- the food was excellent and good value.
Stayed September 2010
Staff were all very professional and helpful. Property was beautifully furnished and very clean. It is a new property. Location was superb: right on the beach and 4 km from Supetar.
Stayed August 2008
The photographs did not do it justice. It was brilliant - stylish, equipped to a very high standard, beautifully laid out, and extremely elegantly designed. Proximity to the beach and little beach bar were an asset with young children and the spaciousness never made us feel crowded even though we were a large group. The separate building for my daughter's family and her 3 young children were an added bonus. The surrounding garden was beautiful and use of the vegetable garden with picking our own tomatoes was a delight.
Extremely welcoming and could not have been more helpful.
This is our second trip with a big family group to a large villa and both have surpassed our expectations. Keep it up guys, we'll be back!
Impressed with: We have been visiting Croatia and sailing the Croatian islands for years so don't need to be impressed. We already love the vistas, the food, the people, the clear water for swimming.
Not impressed with: Nothing, except maybe queuing for the ferry to Supetar with a car!
Recommend: We loved the beach bar for a sundowner, watching the sun set over the sea. Kids loved a day at the Aquapark http://www.rentaroberts.com/en/aqua-park . Young adults enjoyed the watersports on the neighboring beach.
Favourite villa moment: Kids in the jacussi with underwater lighting and music playing!Stayed August 2014
Excellent. The facilities were great although a washing machine would have been handy! :-) I assumed there would be one so packed light but not the end of the world. The WiFi could not be picked up in apartment 2 and only in the window of the sitting room in apartment 1
Impressed with: The clean water.
Not impressed with: The food.... I was hoping for a bit more authentic food. It was quite bland and salty and the fish was very expensive. Most food consisted of Pizza or food off the grill.
Recommend: Trip to Hercules was worth it to see the old Roman Mine. All the restaurants were lovely and everyone was really friendly and welcoming.
Favourite villa moment: Having al fresco meals with the stunning harbour view and buzz from restaurant.Stayed July 2014
They took care of everything we needed and were very helpful. Brought us a bottle of house wine as well! :) It was wrong check-in hotel. We were told that Croatian villas have not changed this info despite informing about this mistake! Only thing - I didn't like extra fee when making transaction.
Impressed with: Nature, beach & weather conditions
Not impressed with: Rain for two days, but this never can be predictable :)
Recommend: Explore the whole island!
Favourite villa moment: Special offer: 30% discount & complimentary breakfast. Otherwise we would have chosen another villa. Standard offer is too expensive!Villa Comments: Correct check in details have been updated.
Stayed August 2012
It can be quite noisy, in the evening, it's situated above a cafe. And the little town comes alive in the evening. In general yes, good service at the reception of the hotel, the owner of the apartment helped with the removal of the wasps nest, but couldn't help us with the wifi.
We booked an boat at aventur. Boat was somewhat old but working, service was good and most of the time friendly. Thanks for all your help with our special questions, everything we asked for was picked up fast and flexible and friendly!!
Impressed with: Coast, sea, all towns are well kept.
Recommend: Restaurant panorama,Stayed July/August 2012
Really lovely location - overlooking the small harbour at Splitska
Stayed August 2009
Booked 2 property (TG005 and BC021) Both excellent thanks. The owners were very accommodating in both Villas. More info on ferries to Brac at the end of the holiday in order to get our flight out of Split . We managed to get on the first ferry at 5 am in order to catch our flight at 11:00 .
Cheaper than James Villas
Impressed with: Too much to list -all good
Not impressed with: Nothing
Recommend: Too many to list
Favourite villa moment: All of it , we will use you again . We loved Croatia !!Stayed August 2017
Good-Excellent. There was some late night noise from the restaurant/bar below the property. The close proximity of this was not made clear in the brochure description - the word 'nearby' was used.
Impressed with: The weather, friendly and helpful people on Brac.
Not impressed with: Slow service in some Split restaurants - principally those that catered for tourists.Stayed July 2012
Good location, very comfortable apartment. Nice views, beautiful sea and gentle people that speak English or German.
Stayed June 2010
Everything we wanted was very well catered for. Villa owner was on site and was full of useful information for activities and restaurants. Even organized a cleaner daily 😊
Impressed with: Clean, friendly and value for money.
Not impressed with: They do like to charge for everything!
Recommend: Boat hire from Split – Bit expensive as there was a lot of us but worth it for the day. All the local restaurants were very nice and friendly.
Favourite villa moment: Watching the sun set every evening with large G and T’s!Stayed July 2017
Fantastic position with great views from the balcony and easy access to the sea from garden. Nice location with good access to Trogir, Split and surrounding area. Water taxi nearby which takes you into Trogir. House is split into two apartments which can be rented separately or together. Recommend taking the whole house as middle/upper floors are the best.
Owner very helpful and on hand to deal with any queries. Would definitely recommend staying here.
Good website, comprehensive information on villas and general ease of use.
Impressed with: Some interesting places to visit and fantastic sights around the coast & islands.
Not impressed with: People can be sometimes a little abrupt.
Recommend: Water taxi into Trogir from nearby campsite (10min walk). Kn 50 return fare. Krkla National Park (about 1 hour away). Primosten very picturesque and worth visit/lunch
Favourite villa moment: Early morning swim plus breakfast on the balcony. Sea is tranquil and crystal clear first thing.
Stayed July/August 2017
Just wanted to thank you for a fabulous holiday in TG001 villa near Trogir
The villa was clean and modern with spectacular views of the sea from both balconies.
The sea is so clear there and we could reach it in minutes via the garden.
The area is quiet not overrun with tourists but an easy walk to the village and the boat taxi to Trogir
We hired a little boat from the village rental place and went exploring anchoring in a deserted bay for snorkelling
The caretakers were delightful. We had a problem with the fridge, drains in bathroom and Satellite tv and struggled to reach her by phone but once you got hold of her they came straight away to fix it.
Theres a new Studenac supermarket opening this weekend up the road behind the villa so that will be handy for your future guests
Also Baldo from the taxi firm Ivan Golez speaks great English and was really helpful he took us to Krka and waited all day to take us home bless him.
We did find he was not there to meet us from the plane but I rang Davorka and she sent him to get us- apparently he had arrived to get us at 11.30 in the morning instead of evening.
Also thankyou for the breakfast welcome pack and letting us stay till 7pm on Saturday which made our late flights much less stressful.
I would definitely travel with you again and recommend Croatian Villas to friends.
Croatian Villas comments Understand the shelves broke in the fridge and there was a plumbing issue in one of the showers, both of which were fixed once the caretakers were advised of the situation. Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay.
Stayed June 2017
Our apartment in Medulin was great for just the two of us . Hadn't expected quite the culture shock of it being such a family destination at the beach but the apartment being the other end of the main area, with some really nice restaurants close by, suited fine plus we enjoyed exploring the national park and Pula , plus cycling etc
Stayed July 2017
The family are charming people. The father was there every day pool-cleaning and tending the gardens. They really do care about the contentment of their visitors.
We stayed two weeks. On the first day of week 2 they changed the sheets and towels and did a good clean. BUT they didn't give us toilet paper for week 2. I asked for some and he gave me one roll, but I thought "What a shame to give the illusion of being tight-fisted" when he is NOT tight-fisted. A quiet word in his ear is required; two rolls for week two, automatically, please.
If anyone asks for suggestions for a holiday, then send them to IS002A. It's wonderful.
Impressed with: Istria is full of interesting history, some pre-Roman. The people made a huge impression. Many of them speak excellent English and are genuinely Europeans. They are good entrepreneurs and there are lots of things to do.
Not impressed with: The run-of-the-mill tourist restaurants.
Recommend: The best for meat is "Salt and Pepper" on the road to the harbour and for fish it is Ristorante Mizerija, on the sea's edge round the corner. The zipwire at "Adrenailin Park" is good and must be followed by the zipwire at Pazinska jama, 35 miles north.
Favourite villa moment: Diving into the pool at the end of the day. That really makes this villa stand out from others that are available.
Stayed June/July 2017
Villa Comments: For self-catering properties, items such as toilet paper, washing up liquid/cleaning products are not included in rentals although often items from previous guests are left at the villa for next guest use.
The view has to be one of the most beautiful in the world. Property manager was very very warm and friendly and the welcome cakes and liquor were much appreciated.
I think the statement of 90 steps is misleading as it is much more than that. The 90 refers only to one section. If I had known quite how many steps there were and that they were vertical for the most part I would probably not have booked it. As the Monarch flight arrives quite late, it means that you don’t have a chance to shop that evening. It would help to have at least something to make breakfast from eg bread, milk etc
Impressed with: The views, Dubrovnik, and the friendly people.
Not impressed with: It is not somewhere to go if you have mobility problems or a fear of heights.
Recommend: We found the best restaurants were across the bay in Zaton Veliki. We would recommend getting up early to go into Dubrovnik before the cruise ship crowds. The food in Dubrovnik was cheaper than we expected to find in a tourist city and we can recommend Mea Culpa for their ginormous pizzas.Stayed August 2013
Croatian accommodation in villas is expensive compared with other locations and we would certainly have not gone to this one as nice as it was had it been at the published price. The villa has exquisite views but, and it is a very big but, the stairs down to it and onwards to the sea are daunting to the point that it would not suit any but the brave and fit which I am glad to say we were. I doubt to its suitability for children of all ages. In early years the hazard is obvious but access to the sea for ours (aged 13 and competent swimmers) did recommend a very watchful eye.
The advantage of the property is its position for trips away from rather than to Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik drowns in visitors in the summer months consequent upon its destination for huge cruise ships who disgorge 2,000 + visitors every 24 hours. This visits upon a small city with a residential population of 1,000. Travel up the coast reveals much more of the real Croatia.
A good service but the prospects of tourist travel to Dubrovnik in the middle term I think is problematic. It is over doing it and cruise ship deposit (numbers of people) will gradually produce negativity over this otherwise exquisite city.
The owners are an exemplary couple who were kind discrete and helpful in every way.
Impressed with: The coastline which is very beautiful and accommodating.
Not impressed with: The volume of visitors to Dubrovnik and the density of road traffic in and around it
Recommend: The hinterland is full of good restaurants and we found those in Zaton particularly good.
Favourite villa moment: Dinner from the hosts.Sunset.Stayed August 2013
Good-Excellent. You could help a bit in planning "things to do" (e.g. boat trip, city trip, other excursion, …) would be helpful. Owners were very nice people.
Impressed with: Nature/ water, and people.
Not impressed with: Tax evasion
Recommend: Revelin disco Club for dancing nights
Favourite villa moment: Sunbathing in the property, by the sea - fantastic!Stayed August 2013
